Westchester Kiwanis Bakersfield, a member of Kiwanis International, seeks to improve the lives of children and veterans in need in our community through volunteerism and financial support of projects.

Our Club

The Kiwanis Club of Westchester, Bakersfield is one of ten clubs in western Kern County. It was chartered in 1961 and has around 50 members from all walks of life, both currently employed and retired, and all have the desire to help our community and our world. Our main club meets Friday mornings at 6:30 AM. The group enjoys fellowship, has a good breakfast, discusses community projects and hears community speakers on various topics. Meetings are adjourned by 7:45 AM. We would like for you to be our guest for a few meetings to see what we are all about. We meet at:

3-2-1

Our 3-2-1 Satellite group is made up of individuals that are unable, due to employment or other reasons, to meet Friday mornings. 3-2-1 has the same goals as the main group but has a more flexible schedule. 3-2-1 means: 3 -Three hours of community service, 2 -Two hours of social gathering, 1 -One-hour meeting.
The club meets on the 3rd Saturday of the month at various locations.

Christmas Shopping Spree

For over 40 years the Westchester Kiwanis Club of Bakersfield has provided a Christmas Shopping Spree including breakfastfor approximately 60 underprivileged children in ourcommunity. Many times these are the only Christmas gifts andcelebration the children will receive. The Club provides $150 foreach child to purchase gifts for their family and themselves.

Get Involved – Help Kids

Westchester Kiwanis club is volunteer-based. Our main club meets once a week and offers an atmosphere of fun, learning, and fellowship. We also have a Satellite group that meets once a month. Our members typically volunteer each month to assist with club service projects. New members bring fresh energy and ideas to Kiwanis clubs. We invite you to reach out, learn more and get involved. Together, we can change the world, one child and one community at a time. If you’re ready to help children and families in your community, then Kiwanis is for you!
